GM is considering using ChatGPT in its vehicles, but it is not yet clear how or whether it would be implemented. One topic that the CSAC expects to discuss is the implications of artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI.

Tierney has been with GM since 2013, working on cybersecurity and ensuring the company’s security and protecting GM’s customer data. In a statement, GM said Tierney’s appointment will allow the company to “play a key role in shaping strategy for national EV and energy security infrastructure.” Tierney’s appointment comes as General Motors is transitioning towards building electric vehicles (EVs) and charging infrastructure at scale. Other members include experts from tech, energy, education, banking, government, and other sectors. Tierney is one of the 13 new appointees to the committee and is the only representative from the automotive industry on the 34-member committee. General Motors Co.’s Chief Cybersecurity Officer, Kevin Tierney, is now a member of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency’s (CISA) Cybersecurity Advisory Committee (CSAC).
